And just like that, the sixth edition of the Web Summit is upon us. November 6-9 marks the dates when 60 thousand people descend on Lisbon to attend the event that has been coined by Bloomberg “Davos for geeks”. Participants from over 170 countries will be present and be able to attend hundreds of talks with technology’s (and not only) biggest names.
Over 2500 journalists from over 100 countries will attend. I’m happy to say that I too will be there, covering as much as I can and talking to interesting people. I plan to tweet a lot during the event, and write at least one post about the 4 days of the conference.
There are 25 summits that comprise the Web Summit. Apart from centre stage, there will be gatherings on the topics of Surf, Venture, Growth, Tech, Marketing, Design, and many others.
Also, word class speakers are coming to share with the attendees. Names include former US Vice President Al Gore, Mark Hurd (Oracle), Sean Rad (Tinder), Steve Huffman (Reddit), Caitlyn Jenner, and many many others.
As I said, expect many tweets from me on this subject until Thursday (@pedromendes). And, if you see me, come say hi!
