The Dark Net, by Jamie Bartlett

November 22, 2016 by Pedro Mendes Leave a Comment

750_tdnI got this book a while ago but just read it now. I’m not sure why, but now was when I felt like it. In it, Jamie Bartlett delves deep into the dark net and reveals some of its secrets.

darknetHe goes into legal and illegal sites and forums, and explores and explains their existence. Child and adult pornography, transhumanism, trolling, bitcoin, and drugs online markets are some of the universes the author explores here. Each has its dedicated chapter where we learn a bit more about each, and hear from some of the players.

I have been a technology professional for many years, but still learned a lot from the book. Some of what the book goes into is funny, much is serious, and some is scary.

If you’d like to know more about some less known aspects of the internet, you should grab a copy.
