The Start Zone talks about and interviews many Startups. We are curious to get to know them and learn about their operation and plans. Of course, all startups are businesses, and I wanted to learn more about business in general.
I came across “The Personal MBA” years ago, when I found Josh Kaufmann’s recommended reading list that he claimed was equivalent to taking an MBA. Being an avid reader, I read some of the books he indicated (some I had already read).
Later he decided to turn all his research and knowledge into a book. He distilled the most important concepts about business and put them together in “The Personal MBA”.
Josh divides the books in several chapters, each of which containing definitions and advice about such topics as Value Creation, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Working with Others, and Systems.
All the sections are small to help the reading experience, and the concepts are explained in a simple way, without almost any complicated business jargon. This makes for very fast reading, and you can surely go through the book in a couple of days.
Personally, I learned immensely from it and hope to put some of it in practice soon.
I recommend “The Personal MBA” to anyone starting a business, managing a business, or just curious about these issues.
