Fábrica de Startups is an incubator and accelerator I shall soon tell you more about . Today, they put together the Discoveries Investment Summit, a pitching event where 16 startups had the chance to try their luck in front of investors, sponsors to the event, and even the Portuguese Secretary of State of Innovation.
All the new companies operate in the field of tourism, so Turismo de Portugal (Portugal’s tourism board) was a big supporter of the initiative.
These startups spent the previous 5 weeks at Fábrica(that translates to factory), in a mini incubation period. They were helped and mentored, finding or refining their business model, some confirming it, and some pivoting.
The 16 startups that pitched were:
- Party with a Local
Contacts, networking and, hopefully, investments will come from this event. At least that’s what these new companies are hoping for. I’ll be contacting some of them soon to find out more about their plans, and whether this event bore fruits.
